I was chatting with one of my close friend yesterday and we were talking about things we want to do in life. He was planning for a one month cycling trip in Himalayas and he was traveling alone so he asked me whether I can join him. I told him I can’t, not because I don’t like to travel rather I actually love to go for such kind of trips however I said “no” because of my work. One month off from work is close to impossible for me and of course there are other family commitments I need to take care. This made me thinking that on one side there are people who are doing what they like doing in their life and on the other side there are people who have a lot of dreams but are doing what they don’t really like just because they don’t have an option. There are so many of us who are living just through the day instead of living our dream. We are doing some work irrespective whether we like it or not just to make a living.
At that moment, I asked myself the question “What is that I would love do if I had no commitments and had all the freedom to do whatever I want. What is that I would love to do, if I had the financial freedom and support from family and friends to follow my dream and do what I like doing. What is that I would love to do that would give me happiness and even if I were not get paid to do it?” My question is to you is “What is that you would love to do?”
The point to think about is, why not start doing it part-time at-least and make it full-time over a period of time. What is stopping us from following our dreams. It is only us and our thought process which is stopping us. Why not spend a little time everyday to work on your passion and get the fulfillment than just dreaming about it. Let’s do what we love to do.
